Tabuoy Privacy Policy

Effective date: 2026-10-22 · Applies to the Tabuoy browser extension

Summary

Tabuoy does not collect, transmit, sell or share any data. Everything you save stays on your own computer, inside your browser's extension storage and in backup files you choose to keep.

What Tabuoy stores, and where

• Sessions — the URLs, titles, favicon addresses, pinned state and tab-group names/colours of tabs you save (manually, or automatically when a window closes). Stored locally in the browser's IndexedDB and chrome.storage.local.
• Snapshots — versioned copies of your sessions, stored locally in IndexedDB.
• Backup files — JSON files written to the Downloads/Tabuoy folder on your computer, on the schedule you set. You own these files; Tabuoy never reads them back unless you import one.
• Settings — your preferences (theme, backup intervals, etc.), stored locally.

What Tabuoy does not do

• No account, no sign-in, no user identifier.
• No server. Tabuoy makes no network requests of its own. It does not use analytics, crash reporting, advertising or tracking of any kind.
• No reading of page content. Tabuoy only uses the tab title and URL that the browser exposes to tab managers; it never injects scripts into web pages.
• No sale or transfer of data to anyone, for any purpose.

Permissions explained

• tabs, tabGroups — to read the title/URL of open tabs when you save, and to open them again when you restore.
• storage, unlimitedStorage — to keep your sessions and snapshots locally without hitting the default size limit.
• downloads — to write your backup file into Downloads/Tabuoy.
• alarms — to run the daily snapshot and weekly backup on schedule.
• favicon — to show site icons from Chrome's own local cache (no network request).

Your control

• Delete any session, snapshot or all data from the Tabuoy manager page at any time.
• Uninstalling Tabuoy removes all data stored in the browser. Backup files in your Downloads folder remain until you delete them.
• Export everything as JSON or plain text whenever you like.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the new version will be posted at this address with a new effective date. Because Tabuoy has no server, it cannot notify you directly; the extension's store listing will link to the current policy.

Tabuoy는 어떤 데이터도 수집·전송·판매·공유하지 않습니다. 저장한 모든 내용은 사용자의 컴퓨터, 즉 브라우저의 확장 저장소와 사용자가 보관하기로 한 백업 파일에만 있습니다.

• 저장되는 것: 저장한 탭의 URL·제목·파비콘 주소·고정 여부·탭 그룹 이름과 색, 버전별 스냅샷, 설정값. 모두 브라우저 내부(IndexedDB, chrome.storage.local)에만 저장됩니다.
• 백업 파일: 사용자가 정한 주기로 다운로드/Tabuoy 폴더에 JSON 파일로 저장됩니다. 사용자가 직접 가져오기 전에는 Tabuoy가 다시 읽지 않습니다.
• 하지 않는 것: 계정·로그인 없음, 서버 없음, 자체 네트워크 요청 없음, 분석·광고·추적 없음, 웹페이지 내용 읽기 없음, 제3자 제공 없음.
• 권한: tabs·tabGroups(저장·복원), storage·unlimitedStorage(로컬 저장), downloads(백업 파일 쓰기), alarms(자동 백업 일정), favicon(크롬 내부 캐시의 사이트 아이콘 표시, 네트워크 요청 없음).
• 사용자 통제: 관리 페이지에서 언제든 삭제·내보내기 가능. 확장을 삭제하면 브라우저 내 데이터는 모두 지워지며, 다운로드 폴더의 백업 파일은 사용자가 직접 삭제할 때까지 남습니다.

Tabuoy はいかなるデータも収集・送信・販売・共有しません。 保存した内容はすべてお使いのコンピュータ内（ブラウザの拡張機能ストレージ、およびご自身で保管するバックアップファイル）にのみ存在します。

• 保存されるもの: 保存したタブの URL・タイトル・ファビコンのアドレス・固定状態・タブグループ名と色、バージョン別スナップショット、設定。すべてブラウザ内部（IndexedDB、chrome.storage.local）にのみ保存されます。
• バックアップファイル: 設定した間隔で ダウンロード/Tabuoy フォルダに JSON ファイルとして保存されます。ご自身でインポートしない限り Tabuoy が読み戻すことはありません。
• 行わないこと: アカウント・ログインなし、サーバーなし、独自のネットワーク通信なし、分析・広告・トラッキングなし、ウェブページ内容の読み取りなし、第三者提供なし。
• 権限: tabs・tabGroups（保存・復元）、storage・unlimitedStorage（ローカル保存）、downloads（バックアップファイルの書き込み）、alarms（自動バックアップのスケジュール）、favicon（Chrome 内部キャッシュのサイトアイコン表示、ネットワーク通信なし）。
• ユーザーの管理: 管理ページからいつでも削除・エクスポート可能。拡張機能をアンインストールするとブラウザ内のデータはすべて削除され、ダウンロードフォルダのバックアップファイルはご自身で削除するまで残ります。
